Mr. Mukundan Menon has been elected as the President of the Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Manufacturers Association (RAMA) on 8th January 2025. RAMA is an association representing the manufacturers in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry in India. Mr. Menon was the Vice President of RAMA for the last four years.
Mr. Menon joined Voltas Limited in July 2023 and brings with him a rich experience of over three decades leading organisations in India and overseas. He is known for his experience and expertise covering the entire spectrum of HVAC products namely – Room Air conditioners, Commercial Air Conditioners and Commercial Refrigeration Products. Prior to joining Voltas, Mr. Menon was the President & Chief Operating Officer of Blue Star Limited and Director of Blue Star Climatech Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Blue Star.
Known for his strategic understanding of the opportunity the Indian market presents and a sharp focus on the Air conditioning and Refrigeration domain, Mr. Menon has a strong connect across the value chain. Given his operational experience across domains including entering new markets, building new product categories and scaling up businesses with a clear long-term strategic vision and exceptional short and mid-term execution capabilities, Mr. Menon has carved a niche for himself as a visionary and an astute leader.
On the academic front, Mr. Menon has a B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering, a Graduate Diploma in Management, along with Executive Management programs from IIM (Indian Institute of Management) and has also successfully completed a Leadership Excellence program from INSEAD, France. He is also an active member of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), which is India’s premier business association, representing Indian Industry, working with the Government for policy making and nation development.
